To deliver on this new and exciting work, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to undertake long-term, world-leading training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, U.S.

Placements are available in November 2025 and will be approximately 79 weeks in duration.
Responsibilities
This role is ideally suited to an experienced electrical inspector or an experienced electrician looking to step up in their career.
As an Electrical Inspector, your responsibilities include:
Performing inspections at various checkpoints during removal, disassembly, repair and installation of equipment.
Conducting prearrival inspections to determine existing conditions (deficiencies/discrepancies) prior to the start of an overhaul to help with scope of work package.
Conducting process inspections during maintenance, repair and overhaul to ensure conformance to critical dimensional installation, material level/welding, and alignment specifications.
Using a variety of technical references, inspection standards, specifications, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and similar references for inspections.
Eligibility Criteria
The successful applicant must possess:
Australian Citizenship
A valid Electrical Trade Certificate
Valid unrestricted Electrical License
Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical trade
Experience as an Electrical Inspector or in quality control (desirable)
Experience within the defence industry (desirable)
Additional Details
During deployment, you will receive on the job training combined with instructor led classroom training. This training program and work is carried out in accordance with company and US Navy processes and procedures.
At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia (WA) to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines at HMAS Stirling. Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying.
