ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We design, build, and sustain some of the nation’s most complex maritime capabilities, supporting long‑term defence outcomes and national security.

Our work matters. What you do at ASC has a direct impact on Australia’s safety and future capability. You will be part of work that is technically challenging, highly visible, and nationally significant.

ASC offers roles that support long careers, not just short contracts. You gain opportunities to grow, learn, and move across teams and disciplines as the organisation evolves. We also support flexibility so you can balance work with life outside it.

A career at ASC offers purpose, challenge, and pride in what you contribute.

About the Opportunity

As a Security Advisor specialising in supply chain security, you will help protect ASC’s extended industrial network. Your work will ensure suppliers, partners, and procurement activities meet Defence and Commonwealth security requirements.

You will operate in a complex, high‑accountability environment where your advice influences real decisions. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will translate policy and regulatory requirements into practical, workable security arrangements.

This role suits someone who enjoys applied problem solving, working across organisational boundaries, and balancing security risk with operational delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide security advice and assurance across ASC’s supply chain activities.
  • Support compliance with Defence and Commonwealth security frameworks, including DISP and PSPF requirements.
  • Assess supplier security posture, including foreign ownership, control and influence, and cyber considerations.
  • Conduct security reviews, audits, and assurance activities, and manage follow‑up actions.
  • Partner with procurement, ICT, legal, and operational teams to embed security requirements into contracts and processes.
  • Deliver security briefings and training to internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Support incident response and post‑incident reviews involving suppliers or third parties.

About You

  • Experience working in Defence, critical infrastructure, government, or a highly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of protective security principles across personnel, physical, information, and supply chain domains.
  • Ability to communicate complex security requirements clearly and practically.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders across business, industry partners, and government agencies.
  • Sound judgement, high integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable balancing assurance, advice, and hands‑on delivery in a fast‑moving environment.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role depends on your ability to obtain and maintain these clearances.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications, some roles require access to protected defence technology. Applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries may not be eligible.

To check your eligibility please visit the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website.

Benefits

  • Unique and challenging work with a deeper purpose.

  • Generous parental leave.
  • Subsidised childcare to support your family.
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities.
  • A diverse, supportive environment.
