About the Opportunity
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager – Training Planning to play a critical role in aligning ASC’s workforce training with the operational demands of our submarine programs. Working closely with technical, planning, and production teams, you will ensure our people have the right skills, at the right time, to support the sustainment and long‑term readiness of Australia’s submarine capability.
We are open to candidates in SA or WA.
In this role, you will interpret complex maintenance schedules, identify training requirements, and coordinate the delivery of technical training across multiple stakeholders. Operating in a fast paced and highly technical environment, you will contribute directly to the efficient delivery of submarine sustainment activities.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain integrated training schedules that align with maintenance plans, workforce availability, and program milestones.
Collaborate with Boat Supervisors/Managers, Trade Managers, Planners, and technical teams to coordinate training resources, equipment, and classroom requirements.
Monitor and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in maintenance timelines and operational priorities.
Analyse training data and produce high‑level reports for key stakeholders.
Identify risks, constraints, and critical path activities, escalating issues as required.
Maintain accurate records of training delivery, attendance, and resource usage.
Contribute to ongoing improvement of scheduling processes, tools, and systems.
Support capability development by ensuring training remains timely, relevant, and technically aligned to organisational needs.
About You
Background in training, workforce capability, scheduling or a relevant field
Experience in training coordination, maintenance planning or workforce planning
Understanding of operational or maintenance cycles
Experience using scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project helpful but not mandatory
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Able to manage competing priorities with sound judgement
Experience in defence, maritime or engineering environments is an advantage
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
