ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s conventionally armed, nuclear‑powered submarines, the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is meaningful and supports Australia’s national security. At ASC, you will find purposeful roles, opportunities to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC offers a deeper purpose you can be proud of.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking two Assistant Security Advisors to support day‑to‑day security operations at our WA sites. This role will be the first point of contact for security administration, providing practical support to ensure compliance with Commonwealth and ASC security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day security support requests and provide clear, accurate advice.
  • Maintain and update security records, registers, and access control systems.
  • Assist with event planning and the development of site security plans.
  • Prepare and deliver security briefs to staff, including threat and risk updates.
  • Complete and maintain Security Risk Assessments in line with policy requirements.
  • Support classified matter movement plans and document handling.
  • Conduct basic investigations and prepare incident and security reports.

About you

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a security, defence‑adjacent role.
  • Strong attention to detail with high data entry and record‑keeping accuracy.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to manage priorities in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while managing tasks independently.
  • Demonstrates strong focus in a role with highly repeatable activities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) is highly regarded.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.

To check your eligibility please visit the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website.
