About the Opportunity 

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager – PMO (Project Management Office), SSN AUKUS, working in the PM&I (Project Management and Integration) IPT, the Project Manager is responsible for delivering comprehensive project management and support activities across all stages of the SSN AUKUS Program lifecycle.

The Project Manager will ensure effective alignment with both SSN AUKUS and ASC strategies while supporting the achievement of all relevant contractual outcomes.


Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for drafting, developing, and oversight of the SSN‑AUKUS critical data deliverables related to demand forecast resource estimates, cost estimates and management plans as part of the contractual obligations, and ensuring alignment with ASC and SSN‑AUKUS strategic objectives. (Data Deliverable Examples – Project Management Plan, Program Cost Estimate, etc)
  • Coordinate cross‑functional collaboration, building strong relationships with internal teams, Joint Partners, ASA and industry stakeholders to support deliverables and key project outcomes.
  • Facilitate and support IPTs by gathering, collating and assessing information readiness for key deliverables and program activities, while facilitating discussions with all departments or integrated project teams.
  • Report or flag any impact to deliverables and escalate where necessary.
  • Preparation and collation of reports in accordance with project requirements, and coordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly project reviews.

About You 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a contract management, business, or project management discipline, or equivalent experience in PMO (Project Management Office) teams.
  • Experience in the Defence sector, including working with the Defence Customer will be desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a complex project environment at Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager level (or equivalent).
  • Professional certifications/memberships in Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated understanding of key project management documents / ASDEFCON contractual documents (DIDs).
  • Experienced in stakeholder management within complex project environments; autonomous, goal‑focused and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal direction.
  • Required to be flexible to work with stakeholders / teams situated across in UK requiring attending any calls / engagements required across different time zones.
  • Strong writing, time management and organisational skills, with proficiency in MS Office Suites, SharePoint and project management tools such as JIRA.

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
