About the Opportunity

The Security Advisor – Security Governance and Assurance plays a critical role in supporting the ASC SSN‑AUKUS Build Program by ensuring robust, compliant and effective security compliance and advice to the program. Working within a growing security team, this role supports the implementation of security policy and assurance in line with DISP, NPSSR and broader Defence security frameworks. You will provide security advice and support across ASC SSN-AUKUS, contributing to the safe and secure delivery of this nationally significant program.


Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of security compliance for the SSN‑AUKUS Build Program
  • Provide high level technical advice to ensure compliance with physical, personnel, governance and information security requirements
  • Assist with the delivery of the Security roadmap, including NPSSR‑related security activities
  • Champion security governance, assurance and compliance activities, including reporting and audits
  • Contribute to security‑related budget planning and execution
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and apply lessons learned affecting security across other department domains
  • Assisting the Team Lead – Security Governance and Assurance in maintaining ASC SSN-AUKUS DISP membership, contract deliverables and any other task across the program

About You 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience providing policy advice and interpretation in a defence or government department
  • Strong working knowledge of DSPF, PSPF, DISP and Defence physical, personnel and information and governance security requirements
  • Eligible to hold AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 2 and meet other security requirements
  • Able to complete (or currently hold) the Defence Industry Security Program Security Officer course
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to simplify and explain complex security matters
  • Collaborative, proactive and resilient, with a strong focus on integrity and continuous improvement
  • Driven to achieve positive outcomes while supporting a strong security and safety culture

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV2 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
